God i love colossal squid. Look at that absolute chonky lad Did you know we had this many observations of colossal squid? We have more preserved specimens than filmed footage of them but the few videos we do have of them in the water are spectacular. While the name implies colossal is bigger than the giant squid that’s not quite true! Unless we’re talking about weight. As colossal squid are the HEAVIEST living invertebrate, but much shorter.
